The daily stand-up exists to coordinate, not to report status to a manager. When it drifts past fifteen minutes, it usually means the meeting is solving problems it was never designed to solve.
Walk the board instead of walking the people. Start with work closest to done and ask what is blocking it. This keeps focus on finishing rather than on everyone proving they were busy.
Use a parking lot. When two people start a detailed discussion, note the topic and agree to talk right after the stand-up with only those who need to be there.
Keep the time and place fixed, start on time even if someone is late, and let a rotating team member facilitate. If the stand-up still feels like a waste, ask the team in a retrospective what information they actually need each morning and redesign around that.
